  1. Kiko thinks if people purchase all these items they will finally have style. But there is not even a design style. No class, no history, no culture, cheap items you find in a town market. And if your like me I get a rash when I see anything ugly in a church.

  3. Maybe he should cater to Muslims too. Its against their religion (and ours) to practice birth control therefore a larger market.

  4. Just the idea of buying the needs of the church in Europe or Spain shows the lack of support for the local people. Remember, the capuchins sell angelic wine, the Carmelites had to quit making hosts because business was not good. These two religious communities make ends meet with what they sell. Shame on you!

The top story of architects and engineers of European descents are being paid for their expertise is another example of something must be wrong with the fruits and labor of the islanders.

We are not good enough to have the NCW invest in our island, but they sure like our money to be invested for their own benefit. Order your hosts, wines and whatever you need, but remember when the time comes for financial support, you know where to ask....THE BUSINESS of the GENARINNIS, KIKO'S MOM and POP STORE and Archbishop Apuron.

We lost our identity when we were Americanized. Our language, culture and traditions are just now being brought back. With the influx of seminarians we will surely lose our Chamorro songs, mass in Chamorro, and other religious traditions. Lost of language, lost of culture and lost of traditions equals no identity as an ethnic group.

    1. AnonymousFebruary 20, 2014 at 5:20 PM You say that your not "Good Enough". Who said you were not? How do you know that you would lose MY (OUR) culture. Did you know? They teach Chamorro in the Seminary. AGAIN pure speculation. Looking outside the box and not opening it to see. the reason why of INFLUX. State your proof, how do you know the Architects are getting paid? Do you know of the amount? What if the Architect here is a Protestant? Would you hire him if he hates OUR CATHOLIC Church. AGAIN SPECULATION.

    2. Yes, I think it is important to distinguish between Americanized and Catholi-cized. From what I've seen, the Chamorro culture and language, albeit with a Spanish streak, was well-incorporated into the worship and devotions of the Chamorro people: that's where all the Chamorro novenas and songs come from.

Some will argue that the Spanish-Chamorro culture is not the true culture, and that would be true with a caveat: only dead cultures are static - culture is always the lived experience of the people.

However, the Chamorro language and culture in the context of Catholic worship really took a hit with the Americanized Novus Ordo and the importation of the fake "folk" music that accompanied it, primarily through the OCP materials - a business almost as big as Kiko's.

As mentioned before, the neos have done nothing other than take to the next level what we have already allowed. In terms of culture and music, most parishes, except for an occasional early morning Mass, have dismissed Chamorro hymns and replaced them with pop tunes that have no cultural or liturgical affinity whatsoever, making lots of money for OCP and its composers. The neos have simply done the same, supplanting Kiko pop for OCP.

All of this is the inevitable consequence of ignoring the strictures of Vatican II's first document, the one on the liturgy, in which, the Council Fathers mandated: "Latin is to be retained…Gregorian Chant is to retain pride of place. " Read the document. How devilish is it that the liturgy has been destroyed under the very name of the council which sought to preserve it.

    3. Thank you to Chuck White for pointing us to the on-line neo catalog. Is this the current season's catalog?? I'm surprised we all haven't already begun receiving it amongst all the junk-mail we tend to get in the mail.

It's obvious that the neo movement is financially secure, and from what I see by that website alone, I could also surmise that it is a wealthy movement; is it greed therefore, that is behind the neos' need to free-load their way on Guam on the back of the Catholic faithful of the non-neo parishes with the cooperation of the archbishop's financial demand of the parishes thru the up-coming archdiocesan appeal?

    4. Im sorry MARIA at 10:43am, but how can you go on talking nonsense about the Neos and their "free-loading". Where are your facts? How are they free-loading?
I serve on a finance council in one of our parishes, even beyond the neos, we do not charge a dime to these groups who operate towards the mission of the parish such as the neos, christian mothers, KofC, lifeteen, cursillos.
The RM seminary is a benefit to our island, its the same benefit as our capuchins, they do not belong to us. Pope Francis calls us to be a missionary church, what more do we need to hear?
It looks very desperate on your part to be sarcastic of a website that sells "neo" items. And what if the neos only use certain items? better to have control than to loose control, I guess you find it very humorous to see paintings of Jesus on a Motorcycle, or playing guitar. This is what happens when there is no control. Id rather go to mass in a Neo community than to go to some of our churches these days. The clash of styles of decor affects my worship at times.
I believe you are getting mixed up between the Annual Appeal and the regular Assessment that is conducted. Each one has its purpose and its usage is defined in detail.
Your sarcasm does no justice to this blog.

    5. "Appeals" "assessments" "allocations" those are just ways to throw non-neo Catholics off. Monies collected at the Parish level still goes to the neo seminary. Why doesn't these monies collected under those 3 or more names go the seminarians at the Friary? As far as I and many of us non-neos concerned the seminarians at the Friary are the ones being formed in the Authentic Catholic way and not the neo/kiko way. Why should the parishes not have a choice to give to the neos or not; instead we are forced to give to an entity we do not belong to nor believe in!

Neos can exist here on Guam like all the other Protestant Churches and religions, but support yourselves as the Friary seminary does! But for goodnes sakes, this is a democracy in which we live -- no one should be FORCED TO GIVE TO THE NEOS, whether individually or as a Parish!

Christian Mothers, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Divine Mercy, Cursillos, to name a few are all members of the Catholic Church and members of the Parishes of this Diocese, but non expect to be financially supported by the parishes except their own members or thru fundraisers they hold in which individuals who are not members are not forced nor demanded to give and contribute!

    6. Yup in December 8, In every procession I don't see Tim Rohr,Maria and Chuck White and thier family. Nobody says anything that thier less Catholic than anyone. Does it really matter whether you receive the Body of Christ via mouth or hand. Biblically I don't see Christ ever said to the disciple, guys you need to receive it by your mouth. Again LAW,LAW,LAW. If so, point it out.

Yes there is a difference between assessment and the Annual Appeal. Look at the picture as a whole. This year for the Annual Appeal, the Parishes were assessed for the amount to be turned in. If , let say, the parish of Our Lady of Waters is assessed $6,000 and only collects $750 if within the end of the year this amount is not collected, it will come out of the regular parish funds. Where does that leave the parish and its needs? In the hole!

If the Church cannot afford to accommodate the expenses of educating the seminarians, then there should be a limit to the number being educated. Bragging that there are 41 seminarians is what, a number. This isn't about how many there are, it's about how the diocese can afford it.

People give but we give what we can. If I can only give $5.00 for the appeal, then so be it. My pension is not much for me to live off, but I survive.

About the church, If it's style you are looking for, then you are in the wrong place. The church is a place to pray and praise The Lord. The most important thing in the Church is the prescience of the Blessed Sacrament. I don't care if the church is two-toned or the tiles are popping, it's what is within the tabernacle....THE LORD.

    8. 3:30 pm. Do you attend the Procession on December 8th just to see who is there or not? You may as well stay home!

  5. "regular" Mass is Bengigni's creation. NCW continues Bengigni's deformation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

  6. Kiko Is creating his own brand in the church and marketing practice by having all his worldwide groups purchase the products. Can you imagine on altar wine alone what a business that becomes. People of Guam need to wake up. The NCW is sucking the money out of Guam to pay for other projects around the world. You are. Being used dear people of Guam.

    1. Does it really matter if the priest is of a regular diocesan or from the RMS-NCW? NO! What matters is that, any and all priests are responsible for the needs of the parishioners. If Johnny Be Going isn't going to make it through the night, and he is bedridden at home...no parish priest is to tell me, that I need to call another priest because my community is calling. This is a no no. It has happened! Or the statement, why didn't you ask me (coming from a community member), father would have said yes to me! These are just examples of what is happening. Tend to all and not just a few!

    2. Archbishop Apuron shows the way. Community comes first. Can't blame the others for thinking the same.

    3. When it involves the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, it does make a difference to the catechized Catholic Faithful because the authentic, respectful and reverent way that Holy Communion is distributed and received (whether in the hand or mouth) happens in the authentic Liturgy of The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated in God's House the Catholic Church, on the Holy Altar. That does not happen in a "community celebration of a meal" at the local hotel or a convenient room on a dinning table.
